FuelFWD joins EWABA

October 20, 2025

FuelFWD is now a member of the European Waste-based and Advanced Biofuels Association. This step supports our focus on making renewable fuel administration clear, efficient, and ready for scale across Europe. This step supports our focus on making renewable fuel administration clear, efficient, and ready for scale across Europe.

About EWABA

EWABA is a Brussels-based, members-driven non-profit association founded in 2013, dedicated to promoting waste-based biofuels and advanced biodiesel across the EU transport sector. With a focus on delivering renewable fuels of the highest quality and achieving up to +90 % GHG savings compared to fossil diesel, EWABA brings together producers of biodiesel from used cooking oil, animal fats and other advanced waste feedstocks, waste collectors, technology providers and national associations.

By joining EWABA, FuelFWD affirms its commitment to the energy transition, transport decarbonisation and the transition to sustainable fuel solutions. Our membership grants us access to a wealth of policy, regulatory and market intelligence, enabling us to navigate the evolving EU regulatory framework and collaborate with leading stakeholders in the waste-based biodiesel industry.

Why this membership matters

EWABA represents companies that turn waste streams into advanced biofuels for road, marine, and aviation use. These fuels rely on strict documentation, detailed mass balance control, and continuous compliance checks. By joining EWABA, we strengthen our connection to the producers, traders, and suppliers who deal with that complexity every day.

Waste based fuels sit at an important point in the energy system. They reduce emissions, use materials that would otherwise be discarded, and meet growing demand from transport sectors that need fast available alternatives. FuelFWD supports that shift by giving teams better tools to manage supply chain data and reporting.

EWABA’s collaboration with FuelFWD strengthens our shared mission to scale the waste and advanced biodiesel market – FuelFWD’s commitment to compliance, streamlined processes, and sustainability, align well with EWABA’s drive to accelerate Europe’s circular, renewable fuels future.

What it means for our customers and partners

  • Closer alignment with the documentation rules for waste based and advanced biofuels
  • Better insight into mass balance, traceability, and feedstock validation across Europe
  • A direct link to policy and industry updates that influence operational work
  • A stronger voice in discussions about digitalisation and compliance efficiency

Looking ahead

Advanced biofuels will continue to grow as Europe works to reduce emissions in hard to electrify sectors. The sector needs clear data, reliable documentation, and simple digital workflows that remove the friction many companies face today.

By joining EWABA, FuelFWD underlines its commitment to support this sector with solutions that help teams process complex documentation fast and with confidence. We look forward to working with EWABA members to build a stronger and more connected advanced biofuels ecosystem.

“Joining EWABA makes total sense for us because the association is close to the practical issues in waste based and advanced biofuels. We want to understand those challenges indepth and contribute where we can to overcome them. Our focus is on making compliance work, data handling, and traceability simpler and more reliable. If we can help the industry reduce this burden, the whole chain works better.”
